These are wonderful illustrations for a fantastic idea. Your idea reminds me a bit of an ancient city where I grew up in St. Louis, called the Cahokia Mounds, http://www.cahokiamounds.com/. In it’s day it was one of the largest greatest cities of the world. Another place that your idea evokes for me is Newgrange in Ireland.
Both of these places seemed to be quite mystically significant for their communities, and were the heartbeat of knowledge, spirituality, and civility.
It is my deepest wish that your idea be chosen, perhaps only to remind the people and the land of these ancient ideals once more.
Thank you very much Patricia! Your link is most interesting too. Silbury Hill is another that comes to mind. There are quite a few mounds and barrows round these parts, although not on this scale. Perhaps this one can illuminate the ancient landscape for people too.
You were lucky to have such a fascinating and beautiful place on your doorstep!
